Together for eight years and engaged since 2021 to celebrity coach Anson Cha (車崇健), Selena Lee (李施嬅) shockingly announced the couple broke up earlier this year. Just when everyone thought their story has come to an end, Selena reignited speculation when she shared photos on social media from Turkey.
Wearing an elegant evening gown that looked suspiciously like a wedding shoot, she captioned, “A lot of people come to Turkey to take wedding photos, to capture the moment of love.” The cryptic post left many wondering whether she and Anson had rekindled their romance.
The ex-couple’s potential for a second chance at love was further fueled when it was announced that they will be participating in Chinese reality show, See You Again <再見愛人>. The show focuses on marriage and invites couples with relationship troubles to go on an 18-day journey to confront emotional wounds and seek solutions. The teaser showed snippets of Selena and Anson openly confessing they still love each other. In past seasons, some couples even successfully reconciled, raising hopes that Selena and Anson might follow the same path.
In the trailer, Selena was seen saying, “When men court women, they put in so much effort in the beginning.” Anson responded with heartfelt sincerity, “I still love her. That has never changed.” But Selena firedback, “Why did you give me so much time and care at first, but once we were together, it disappeared?” Anson owned up to his own negligence and guiltily admitted, “It took me eight years to realize how deeply I hurt her.”
Despite everything, Selena softened and said, “It’s so hard to find someone who truly makes you happy.” She admitted she still could not fully let go of him.
The new season of See You Again premiered on October 16. Hopefully, Selena and Anson will give their love another shot.
