Heartthrob William Chan (陳偉霆) shocked fans today (Oct 18) with a surprise announcement on social media — he’s now a father, and it’s a baby boy! The post came completely out of the blue, with Chan sharing a photo of himself cradling the baby, along with ultrasound images and pictures of model He Sui’s (何穗) baby bump. He captioned the Weibo post: “Dad, Mom, and him. @HeSui!”
Fans Sent Into Frenzy
Although William Chan had never publicly acknowledged his relationship with Chinese supermodel He Sui, this announcement all but confirms it — and seems to officially give her a title.
Back in August 2021, the two were photographed returning to the same residence, sparking dating rumors. In October last year, they were spotted vacationing sweetly in Japan, showing affectionate interactions and seeming very much in love. Earlier this year, He Sui suddenly wiped her social media accounts clean, leading to widespread speculation that she was retiring from showbiz, secretly married, or even pregnant. No one expected the couple to confirm the happy news this way.
Throughout the entire pregnancy, the pair kept everything under wraps. Even just yesterday, William Chan attended a public event, without giving any hint of the big reveal.
Because the two had been rumored to be dating for years but never publicly admitted to the relationship, their sudden announcement as new parents sent fans into a frenzy. Born in 1989, He Sui is four years younger than William Chan. Standing tall at 178 cm, the statuesque mainland Chinese supermodel rose to fame for her fair complexion and elegant figure. She’s been the face of several international luxury brands and has walked countless high-fashion runways, including the world-renowned Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. In 2018, she and fellow model Ming Xi (奚夢瑤) were appointed as Victoria’s Secret’s Greater China brand ambassadors.
Reportedly, He Sui was a frail child, and her parents encouraged her to take up swimming to build her strength. Seven years of swim training helped shape her tall, athletic physique. She later entered and won the 12th China Model Star Contest, marking the start of her modeling career. In addition to modeling, He Sui has also dabbled in film and appeared in several Chinese variety shows.
Interestingly, He Sui once made headlines in 2015 when she suddenly revealed she was married and even shared a photo of her marriage certificate, though she covered her husband’s face.
