7th November 2025 – (Hong Kong) The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority has completed WestK Quay beside M+, paving the way for a new cross‑harbour link and a refreshed waterfront experience. The WestK Ferry, operated with Fortune Ferry Company Limited, will begin public service on Saturday, 15th November 2025, following a four‑day trial from 10th to 13th November and an official launch ceremony on Friday, 14th November.

To mark the opening, 3,000 complimentary single‑ride tickets for adults and 500 for pets will be given away from 8am on 10th November at WestK Quay and Central Pier No. 8. Distribution is first‑come, first‑served, with a maximum of two tickets per person, and valid for the first service weekend on 15th and 16th November.

The ferry connects WestK Quay to Central Pier No. 9 in around eight minutes, offering a direct and scenic hop across Victoria Harbour. Departures run every 30 minutes from both sides. Weekday operating hours are 8am to 10pm, extended to 11pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, with the last sailing leaving from WestK. Air‑conditioned cabins, bicycle carriage and pet‑friendly policies are standard across the fleet. The vessel design, inspired by ocean waves, was co‑created with students from the Hong Kong Design Institute, adding a playful design note to the commute.

Fares are set at HK$20 for adults and HK$20 per pet, with HK$10 concessions for children aged 3 to 11, seniors aged 65 and above, and passengers with disabilities. A monthly pass costing HK$560 will be sold at WestK Quay, granting unlimited rides within the calendar month for frequent travellers.

The harbourfront is being positioned as a day‑out destination as well as a transport hub. Five new food and beverage concepts will open near WestK Quay from 13th November, serving nostalgic boat noodles, Hong Kong‑style street bites, inventive vegetarian dishes, Japanese night‑market flavours and Western favourites. Throughout November, WestK Ferry passengers can scan an onboard QR code and present the record at participating outlets to enjoy exclusive offers, subject to terms and conditions.

In a further boost to connectivity, the existing “Tsim Sha Tsui East – Central” water taxi route will be rerouted to berth at WestK Quay. From Monday, 1st December 2025, the public pier will also accept private vessels for pick‑up and drop‑off by advance reservation, free of charge. Bookings can be made via the WestK website, with daily slots available from 7:30am to 11pm. Online registration opens at 10am on 10th November 2025. The arrangement is expected to help tour operators weave together museums, performance venues and dining within the district into more flexible itineraries.
