11th November 2025 – (Hong Kong) Veteran actor Benz Hui passed away peacefully on 2th8 October following multiple organ failure arising from cancer, aged 76. His family previously announced the funeral arrangements and on Tuesday confirmed that a public tribute hour will be held on the afternoon of his vigil to allow fans and admirers to pay their respects. Attendance on the day of the funeral will be restricted to family members and close friends.
According to the family notice, Mr Hui will lie in repose at the Po Fook Memorial Hall in Tai Wai on Monday, 17th November, with a private vigil to be conducted for relatives and intimates. The following morning, Tuesday, 18th November, a funeral service will take place, after which the cortege will proceed directly to cremation.
To facilitate public remembrance, the bereaved family has designated a one-hour period from 4pm to 5pm on 17th November during which members of the public may attend to offer their final farewells. All other ceremonies, including the vigil and the funeral, will be held in private, and the family has asked for understanding and respect for their wishes.
