3rd November 2025 – (Taipei) Taiwanese model Iris Hsieh, celebrated online for her previous nursing career and dubbed the “nurse goddess,” was featured in a short interview clip, offering a final glimpse of her on camera before her death in Malaysia. Hsieh had travelled to Kuala Lumpur for work and was later reported to have died in a hotel, with a preliminary local report citing cardiac arrest. Her manager said the family, who described her as athletic and in good health, is considering whether to pursue further clarification of the cause of death.
In the newly shared footage, Hsieh reflected on her career path. She said she studied nursing at Central Taiwan University of Science and Technology and worked in a hospital for two years before deciding the role was not the right fit. Choosing to remain in Taipei to build a following, she moved into modelling and spoke candidly about the decision as part of her professional journey.
Malaysian media reported that Malaysian artist Namewee was charged in late October with drug use and possession, following positive results for four substances in an initial urine screen. Police are also examining whether Hsieh may have taken drugs before her death and are investigating other circumstances surrounding the case. The matter is scheduled to be heard in court on 8 December, while forensic findings on Hsieh’s cause of death are still pending.
