24th November 2025 – (Hong Kong) Remus Choy, 58, a member of Hong Kong pop trio Grasshopper, disclosed last October that he had undergone surgery to remove a brain tumour, sharing images of a U‑shaped post‑operative scar on his shaven head. After more than a year of recuperation, he has made significant progress. He returned to the stage in late July, joining bandmates Calvin Choy and Edmond So as closing‑night guests at Kelly Chen’s Hong Kong Coliseum concerts, and later performed at the 2025 Strawberry Music Festival in Guangzhou, singing and dancing with apparent ease.
Choy recently met veteran journalist Eileen Cha for dinner, during which he spoke candidly about facing brain surgery with composure, a stance Cha said she greatly admired. On social media, Cha noted that Choy, known to enjoy fine food and wine, had thoughtfully arranged an indulgent meal and champagne for their get‑together, marking a cheerful reunion after earlier attempts to meet following his operation fell through.
Cha added that Choy shed about seven to eight kilogrammes after the procedure and is now focused on rebuilding his strength. Choy said he felt no fear about the operation and entrusted the outcome to fate, reflecting on life’s unpredictability and stressing the importance of resilience, courage and staying upbeat each day. During his recovery, he kept his spirits high by meeting friends for mahjong, saying the result mattered less than the joy it brought.
Recent photos show Choy running and working out, suggesting a solid return to fitness. Fans have flooded social platforms with well‑wishes for his continued health
