2nd November 2025 – (Hong Kong) Renowned music producer and arranger Max Tu has died at the age of 62. The respected musician, professionally known as Tu Ying, passed away on Friday following an accident at a gym facility.
According to available information, the incident occurred during a morning workout session when Mr Tu fell from a treadmill. The absence of other individuals in the gym at that moment reportedly delayed emergency intervention. Despite being transported to the hospital for medical treatment, he was subsequently pronounced dead.
The timing of his passing directly impacted scheduled professional commitments. Mr Tu had been due to participate in a Guangzhou concert later that same day. Event organisers issued a statement announcing the cancellation, citing “sudden unforeseen circumstances affecting a team member” as the reason for the performance’s abrupt cancellation.
Throughout his extensive career, the late producer contributed to the music industry as an arranger on more than one thousand compositions. His professional collaborations included work with numerous prominent artists such as Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, Faye Wong, Jeff Chang, and A-Mei.
