17th November 2025 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong is set to launch a new winter spectacle as Merry Balloon Hong Kong makes its debut from 24th November 2025 to 4th January 2026, bringing together around 20 popular local and international IP characters for a season of immersive, family-friendly entertainment.

Headlining the programme is the Merry Balloon Parade, billed as the city’s first large-scale helium balloon procession of character IPs, which will take place on 28 December along the West Kowloon waterfront under the Victoria Harbour skyline. The celebration also extends across the city with Merry-Go-Around Town, an augmented reality trail paired with a stamp‑collecting challenge that invites the public to capture AR images of giant character balloons at Hong Kong hotspots and win limited-edition badges.

Anchoring the festivities is Merry Balloon Park, a dreamlike inflatable playground set on the Great Lawn at Art Park in the West Kowloon Cultural District. Running from 6th December 2025 to 4th January 2026, it features two main zones: the Giant Bouncy Zone, including a seven‑metre slide and a 40‑metre bouncing track, and the Snap & Play Zone, showcasing a seven‑metre inflatable Christmas tree, a colourful maze and multiple IP installations designed for photo opportunities. The park operates daily from 10.00am to 10.35pm, with timed sessions. Advance tickets include a 40‑minute jump session in the Giant Bouncy Zone and unlimited access to the Snap & Play Zone. Socks are required for the jump area, and children under 12 must be accompanied by a ticket‑holding adult.

Organisers say the festival blends interactive technology with festive ambience to offer novel experiences across multiple venues. Alongside the parade and park, the AR-led Merry‑Go‑Around Town begins on 24th November, allowing free participation in the “AR Balloon Tour Hong Kong”, while a purchasable Merry Balloon postcard set enables entry to the citywide stamp‑collecting activity.

The line-up of characters spans international and home‑grown favourites, including Ocean Park’s Panda Friends, LuLu the Piggy, Peppa Pig and The Little Prince, among others such as Moomin, SpongeBob SquarePants, Care Bears, CoComelon, Garfield, Hong Kong Heavy Vehicle, Mr. Men Little Miss, M&M’s, MOLLY, PAW Patrol, Mr. Potato Head and Chan Zi. The organisers aim to deliver a festive centrepiece for residents and visitors alike, with experiences ranging from waterfront pageantry to hands-on play and citywide digital discovery.
