23rd November 2025 – (Hangzhou) Katy Perry has relaunched her presence in mainland China with two consecutive concerts at the Hangzhou Olympic Expo Centre on 21st and 22nd November, part of the Asian leg of her The Lifetimes Tour. The dates mark the American pop star’s first performances in the country in 10 years.
Crowds flocked to the venue hours ahead of the evening start times, with fans gathering from 5pm to hand out lyric sheets and support materials. Many carried Chinese‑brand shopping bags and teddy bears featured in the music video for her latest single, Bandaid. On stage, Perry showcased the new track and delivered a run of hits, including nine Billboard number ones such as California Gurls, with an added rendition of the fan‑favourite ballad The One That Got Away.
Perry kept the atmosphere playful and interactive throughout. She urged the Hangzhou audience to out‑cheer Shanghai, where she is scheduled to perform next, drawing thunderous applause. She stepped off the stage to embrace fans and practised Mandarin on the spot, introducing herself with the nickname given by Mainland supporters. When a Labubu doll was tossed onto the stage, she leaned into her long‑running bit about disliking the character, mimed a mock cry while holding a version bearing her likeness, then theatrically tossed it back, prompting laughter across the arena.
After the shows, Perry shared highlights from her visit on Instagram, including photos in a Chinese‑style dress, a lakeside stroll at West Lake, local food discoveries and warm exchanges with fans. The tour now moves on to Shanghai and Haikou, before heading to Saitama in Japan and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
