Jackie Cai (蔡潔) and Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) are currently seen in TVB’s Prism Breakers <執法者們>. Jackie plays a strict and principled officer involved in a turbulent marriage with Bosco, where they go through an emotional rollercoaster of divorce and reconciliation. Although this is their eighth collaboration, it is the first time they officially played lovers. Jacky joked, “It’s the full package: from falling in love, getting married, and life-and-death situations, we did everything!”
Although they have often been linked romantically, Jacky and Bosco consistently denied any real-life relationship, saying they are just good friends. Jackie praised Bosco as professional, serious, hardworking, and a great onscreen partner. When asked whether their relationship may develop further, she candidly called Bosco “every woman’s ideal man,” but she has no specific criteria for a partner.
Jackie, meanwhile, likened love to running a company, and that a lover is like a business partner, where there must be space, mutual respect, and trust. “I used to dream about starting a family at 18 or 20 because I’m quite traditional. I still long for a family and children of my own, but I’ve come to realize some things can’t be forced.”
Aside from acting, Jackie has also been actively creating her own work. She is about to release her fourth comic book, which follows a toy designer’s time-travelling adventure into another world. She hopes to adapt the story into a movie one day and joked Bosco had promised to volunteer as her assistant director if she ever made a film.
As for rumors of her sudden wealth, Jacky laughed, “I wish, but it really hasn’t happened.” Relying on her own hard work to earn money, Jacky hopes to provide a better life for her family.
Looking ahead, Jackie wants to play more diverse roles, especially period dramas. “When I was a child, my first impression of TVB was the historical dramas such as Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils <天龍八部>. They’re so different from the real world. I think women look really beautiful in historical costumes. I heard filming period dramas is tough, but I would love to try it.” When prompted that she should write a period drama script and pitch it to the company or investors, Jacky said she does not feel skilled enough yet. She noted historical dramas are costly but she hopes to eventually bring her creations to the screen.
In a recent appearance on the online show Sisters Talk <絲打圍爐> with Bosco, Karl Ting (丁子朗), and Him Law (羅子溢), Bosco shocked everyone on set when he boldly revealed that his ideal type needs to be beautiful and talented, just like Jackie. When asked why they are not involved romantically despite frequent collaborations, Bosco joked that Jackie talks too much and is annoying. “I’d strangle her,” he said teasingly. He seriously admitted he likes cool, stylish women. Known for his strong stance on not getting married, when asked what he would do if he met “the one” and wanted to make her happy, Bosco confidently said, “I’d give her everything I own!”
