Hong Kong’s seasoned actor Lam Seung-mo dies at age 75

5th November 2025 – (Hong Kong) The Hong Kong theatrical community is mourning the loss of veteran actor Lam Seung-mo, who passed away on Tuesday following a heart attack. He was 75 years old.

A respected figure in the local arts scene, Mr Lam was a graduate of Hong Kong Baptist College, the precursor to the current university. He honed his craft with the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, building a substantial body of work across stage and film before embarking on a television career.

His television career commenced in 1989 when he joined TVB, where he became a prolific presence. Over a concentrated seven-year period with the broadcaster, he appeared in more than 40 television drama series. His first notable role was in the production “A Time of Taste,” where he portrayed a Qing dynasty imperial eunuch and chef.

Mr Lam’s extensive contributions have left a significant mark on Hong Kong’s dramatic arts, spanning several decades of dedicated performance across multiple mediums.
