24th October 2025 – (Hong Kong) Three towering inflatable sculptures were seen anchored off Tamar Park on Friday as preparations advanced for a harbour‑side spectacle set to begin on Saturday afternoon. Crews aboard crane‑equipped vessels inflated and secured figures depicting a blue robotic cat, a red furry character from a children’s series rendered in a contemporary art collaboration, and a purple fast‑food mascot, with a fourth figure yet to be unveiled. The unexpected appearance drew steady crowds to the waterfront, where many paused to photograph the scene. A ticketed viewing platform has been installed overlooking the display, while the harbourfront promenade remains open for public viewing from ground level.
The inflatables are planned to remain afloat off Admiralty during the event period, with a separate market staged along the adjacent promenade. Stalls are due to offer licensed merchandise from multiple franchises, including items described as exclusive releases. Organisers indicated the final character, a locally popular creature, would be added after testing and inflation at the site. Sea trials and mooring operations continued through the afternoon to ensure structural stability and safe positioning on the water.
Visitors arriving throughout the day, including students, office workers and tourists, used the emerging backdrop for photos and short videos. Many expressed particular interest in the blue robotic cat figure, widely associated with childhood nostalgia, although others said they were keen to see the remaining character added to complete the quartet. Additional crowd management and marine support are expected over the weekend as the installation opens alongside the pop‑culture market at the waterfront.
On-the-day admission may be bought at the venue, depending on capacity. Every ticket comes with a HK$20 merchandise credit, redeemable in increments for each HK$200 spent. A HK$150 viewing platform ticket is also available and includes entry to the Water Parade Market.
