After tying the knot in 2020, Stephanie Ho (何雁詩) and Fred Cheng (鄭俊弘) welcomed their son, Asher, in 2022. When Asher displayed delayed mobility, the worried parents took him to see many doctors.  After multiple appointments and testing, Asher was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome, which is a rare genetic disorder that impacts physical and cognitive development.

Recently, Fred and Stephanie shared that Asher will soon be attending a special needs school. Sharing a photo of himself taking Asher to school, Fred wrote, “It was Asher’s first day of school today. We are all so excited for him. I couldn’t really sleep last night. He did such a good job today–he didn’t cry and he wasn’t scared. We’re all so proud of you baby.”

Stephanie also shared her sentiments online. Revealing that Asher did not look back when they took him to school for the first time, Stephanie further wrote, “Asher is in kindergarten! We started school two weeks ago and he’s been a champ. We were a little worried that he would be scared to be in a new place without us being around, but he settled in great because all the teachers were so patient and caring. The first day when we sent him in the classroom, he was so mesmerized by the toys he didn’t look back at all. He started off with two hours in the first week. By two weeks, he is in class for six and a half hours!”

Stephanie summed up Asher’s new milestone, ”It’s so good to know that he is being taken care of at school and we can have some time to ourselves. Our helper cried on his first full day at school because she missed him too much. Excited to see what’s ahead of us!”
