25th November 2025 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong entertainer Ekin Cheng’s concert in Japan, scheduled for 5 December, has been cancelled, the organiser announced today (25th November), citing force majeure. Details of the refund arrangements will be published on the official website and ticketing pages once finalised, and ticket‑holders are advised to retain their tickets.
Cheng, who has frequently worked between Hong Kong and Japan in recent years, had earlier revealed plans to perform in Tokyo, drawing strong support from fans. Against the backdrop of heightened China–Japan tensions and a spate of cancellations by Japanese artists in Greater China, the organiser stated on social media that the show set for next Friday would not proceed “due to force majeure”, adding: “Thank you for your continued support for Ekin Cheng. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to those who were looking forward to the performance and appreciate your understanding.”
The concert was initially slated for Yokohama before being moved to Tokyo. The organiser said it is adjusting the refund process and timeline, with specifics to be announced on official channels, and reminded patrons to keep their tickets safely. Following the announcement, some fans expressed disappointment online, noting they had already booked flights and hotels.
