24th October 2025 – (Hong Kong) The late actress Diane Keaton has ensured her golden retriever, Reggie, will be cared for in considerable comfort, with a substantial trust fund established from her estate. According to reports, a $5 million provision has been made for the animal’s long-term welfare, a bequest reflecting the deep bond between the Oscar-winning star and her pet.

The trust is understood to cover all aspects of the dog’s future, including a private residence, dedicated caretakers, and ongoing donations to animal charities made in Keaton’s name. The arrangement was described by a source close to the actress as emblematic of her character—”eccentric, kind, and deeply loving.”

Reggie, who was introduced to the public as a “pandemic puppy” in 2020, became a central figure in Keaton’s later years. The actress often shared her affection for the dog on social media, once jovially questioning whether her new companion was “half horse or half dog” before concluding, “I LOVE HER!” In a later interview, she affectionately referred to Reggie as a “big jerk” and a “great jerk,” highlighting the humorous dynamic of their relationship.

The animal’s presence extended into Keaton’s professional life, with her final public post in April featuring Reggie as part of a collaboration with a home goods brand. The partnership included a line of home decor that featured dog beds and treats. Keaton passed away on 11th October from pneumonia at the age of 79, leaving behind an estate valued at an estimated $100 million.
