Cheung indicated that one of her ears experiences considerable hearing difficulty, suggesting this condition might have familial connections. She explained that her paternal grandparents were both deaf and mute, communicating exclusively through sign language throughout their lives. The performer noted she maintains comprehension of manual communication methods despite her own hearing impairment.
The conversation emerged during a discussion about language acquisition, with co-participant Ning Jing observing the relationship between auditory perception and linguistic capability. Cheung confirmed this connection while elaborating on her personal circumstances and family background.
