TVB actor Brian Chu (朱敏瀚) was exposed last year by tabloids for secretly dating Miss Hong Kong 2018 winner Hera Chan (陳曉華). Recently, rumors surfaced again that the pair traveled to Japan together, disguising their couple’s trip by tagging along with actor Owen Cheung (張振朗) and his girlfriend, Renci Yeung (楊偲泳), to divert attention.
Switched Seats After Being Recognized by Fans
Reports claim that because both artistes are both in the critical stage of building their careers, TVB management has asked them to keep their relationship low-profile, causing their relationship to be unacknowledged publicly and kept under wraps.
However, on September 26, when star Kenny Kwan (關智斌) of Boy’z fame held his concert, fans of the couple once again spotted Brian and Hera appearing together. Keeping things discreet, Brian wore a mask while Hera hid under a fisherman’s hat. To downplay suspicion, they roped in actresses Sisley Choi (蔡思貝) and Winki Lai (賴慰玲) to attend together, putting on the act of being “just a group of friends.”
The two were seen entering the venue around the same time. Hera sat beside Brian, watching the performance attentively, and the pair were seen constantly whispering to each other like any sweet young couple. When Kenny sang on stage, the two stood up close together, swaying to the music. But once they noticed fans taking photos, the seat beside Brian was swiftly switched with Sisley Choi, and Brian immediately straightened his posture, sitting stiffly and refraining from any suspicious movements, as if nothing had happened.
It turns out the outing wasn’t just for Kenny’s concert but also to support Winki’s son’s stage debut. During Kenny’s performance of his song Prophecy “預言書”, a young boy went on stage to tell a story to the audience, confidently performing without a trace of stage fright. The clip quickly went viral online. Afterwards, both Sisley and Winki shared Yaya’s performance on social media, with Winki commenting, “Mommy so proud!!”, and her good friend Sisley adding “Step by step, we climb over mountains. Keep it up, I love you Yaya.”
When asked by reporters about his relationship with Hera, Brian still refrained from directly confirming the romance. But he did loosen up slightly, saying, “I’ve been a big fan of Boy’z since young, especially Kenny Kwan. I can sing almost all his songs. And the best part was that Winki’s son Yaya was performing tonight—of course we had to come together to support him!”
Meanwhile, Hera Chan shared Yaya’s impressive performance in her Instagram Stories, praising the 8-year-old’s confidence and natural stage presence, “Jiayou! Jiayou! Your energy is so infectious!”
