Last year, TV queens Tavia Yeung (楊茜堯) and Rosina Lam (林夏薇) earned critical acclaim with the drama Dark Side of the Moon <黑色月光>. At the end of this month, the two will reunite to headline a heavyweight new series, War of The Roses <玫瑰戰爭>, one of TVB’s ramped up co-productions with mainland China, with stronger casts and bigger budgets than before.
An Intriguing Look at the World of the Rich & Famous

Playing top-tier actresses locked in fierce rivalry, their “clashes” promise to spark fireworks on screen, the series will also bring in three TV Kings—Moses Chan (陳豪), Ruco Chan (陳展鵬), and Kenneth Ma (馬國明), adding star power and setting the stage for an explosive battle in the entertainment industry.
War of The Roses, which held its blessing ceremony in mainland China last year, is finally confirmed to begin filming at the end of this month. After more than half a year’s delay, the cast has undergone major reshuffling. Besides Rosina Lam and Elaine Yiu (姚子羚), Tavia Yeung—who locked horns with Rosina in Dark Side of the Moon—will now join as a female lead.
Tavia Yeung returned to TVB last year with the anniversary drama Dark Side of The Moon, where her on-screen rivalry with Rosina Lam’s villainous character brought in stellar ratings and strong word of mouth. In War of The Roses, Tavia will embark on a revenge arc, while also becoming entangled in a grisly case involving a wealthy tycoon’s dismembered corpse. Rising actresses Celina Harto (陳楨怡) and Judy Kwong (鄺潔楹) will play female celebrities, while Yoyo Chen (陳自瑤), who has impressed audiences in recent years—also landed a key role.
Male Leads Excited to Work with Tavia After Many Years
Rosina revealed “I’m that she is currently in “closed-door preparation” for the role teased about it on social media, while Tavia shared that she is busy with my kids starting school, but with husband Him Law‘s (羅子溢) help to take care of the kids, she can fully focus. “This role is definitely more complex than in Dark Side of the Moon, so I’m really looking forward to reading the entire script,”
A surprise addition to the cast, Kenneth Ma admitted he has yet to finish reading the script, revealing that producer Jonathan Chik (鍾澍佳) had wanted Tavia and him to work together again during the filming of Dark Side of the Moon, but he could not join then as he was previously tied up with Prism Breaker <執法者們>. He is definitely happy to reunite with old friend Tavia this time, rekindling well-loved viewer memories of their onscreen coupling in The Hippocratic Crush <On Call 36小時>!
Similarly, Moses said: “It’s been even longer since I last worked with Tavia—longer than Kenneth—so I’m really looking forward to it,” Ruco Chan remarked that all the actresses he’s worked with closely – from Tavia, to Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣), Rosina, and Aimee Chan (陳茵媺)—all got married after filming with him!
Yoyo Chen Lands Key Role
Yoyo Chen, who has been given another important role after recently wrapping Jonathan Chik’s dramas D.I.D 12 <刑偵12> and Imitation of Life <模仿人生>, reveals she will “just bring my (her) true self to the role”, while Judy Kwong will portray an ambitious actress who stops at nothing to achieve her goals, a challenging role full of intensity.
Actress Jacky Cai (蔡潔), who has been actively filming dramas in recent years and has earned strong viewer support, had participated in last year’s blessing ceremony for War of The Roses in mainland China, but due to the long delay in production, she later committed to Shaw production Behind the Queen <風華背後>, starring Ada Choi (蔡少芬) and Athena Chu (朱茵), which recently held its commencement ceremony. With both projects overlapping, Jacky had no choice but to withdraw. Other originally announced cast members, including Yvette Chan (陳星妤) and Eddie Cheung (張兆輝), also could not stay on.
