23rd December 2025 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong actor Lee Lung-kei has dismissed claims of a clandestine relationship with singer Stacey Long, amid renewed speculation over his engagement to Chris Wang. The veteran star, who publicly vowed to wait for Wang during her imprisonment and to marry her upon release, faced fresh scrutiny after Wang retreated from public view following her release in July, prompting talk of a split. Despite repeated assurances that the couple remain committed, a magazine report alleged Lee had been overly familiar with Long at a recent dinner.
Lee, who famously greeted Wang’s release with 60 roses — symbolising “loving you every minute” — refuted suggestions he had lost contact with his fiancée. He criticised online commentators for spreading baseless narratives, saying he had travelled to the United States and Canada for five performances and had personally accompanied Wang to her family home in Foshan before departing, stressing there was no question of them being out of touch. He added that Wang preferred to keep a low profile and avoid media attention, and therefore the pair would not disclose wedding details for now, but insisted, “We are doing very well.”
Addressing online rumours that Wang had never divorced and has an 18-year-old son, Lee urged the public not to be misled by click-driven content creators. He referred to Wang as his “wife” when speaking to reporters and described negative speculation as “made-up stories”, reiterating that their relationship is genuine and stable, albeit handled discreetly at this stage.
The controversy intensified after a weekly magazine reported that Lee had behaved intimately with Long at a banquet, claiming the 31-years-younger singer — known from the talent show Midlife, Sing & Shine — enlivened Lee’s mood on arrival. The report alleged the pair leaned in closely while viewing a phone, and that Lee placed an arm around her shoulders, suggesting a familiarity beyond ordinary courtesies.
In comments to local media, an emotional Lee rejected the account, likening the coverage to sensationalist tabloid tactics. He said the dinner took place on 8 November and that loud singing at the venue forced him to lean in to hear Long speak softly, which may have been photographed at a misleading angle. He condemned the report as a distortion crafted “to sell papers”, calling it “sad” and “regrettable”.
Lee further clarified that he has met Long only twice and denied any impropriety, saying the room was full of people and it would have been impossible to hold her in an intimate manner. He accused the media of “angle-trick photography”, adding, “Do they take me for a lecher?” He said he felt particularly disappointed because he knew one of the attending reporters and had not expected the images to be “used” against him, leaving him disheartened.
Lee also remarked that he and Wang hope to start a family “if it is meant to be”, and explained that Wang’s absence from the spotlight stems from managing her father’s substantial family business on the Mainland. He said he is supporting her priorities and remains steadfast in the relationship
