22nd December 2025 – (London) The reported rift within the Beckham family has increasingly become a matter of public consumption, migrating from whispered speculation at dinner tables to full-blown social media drama. A dispute that might once have remained behind closed doors is now being dissected by tabloids and amplified by online commentators with no direct knowledge of events.

A recent report in the Daily Mail claimed that Victoria and David Beckham had unfollowed their eldest son, 26-year-old entrepreneur and former photographer Brooklyn Beckham, on social media. The piece also noted that Brooklyn intends to spend Christmas with his wife Nicola Peltz’s parents, who are said to be billionaires. The article was subsequently updated to allege that Brooklyn had in fact blocked his parents on social media platforms.

Cruz Beckham, the couple’s younger son, has since intervened to challenge part of this narrative. Posting to his Instagram Stories, Cruz shared a screenshot of the tabloid report and directly refuted the claim that David and Victoria had unfollowed Brooklyn. “Not true. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son. Let’s get the facts right,” he wrote, adding that “they woke up blocked… as did I.”

His comment implies that Brooklyn not only blocked his parents but also restricted his sibling’s access to his recent Instagram content. Under Instagram’s blocking function, users who are blocked can typically still see historical comments and likes, but both accounts are removed from each other’s followers and following lists.

A review of David and Victoria Beckham’s public Instagram accounts shows that both still follow their younger sons, Romeo and Cruz. Brooklyn, however, is absent from their following lists and does not appear as a follower in return. Nicola Peltz also does not follow her parents-in-law, and neither David nor Victoria follows her.

Speculation about tensions within the Beckham family has circulated since Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding in Palm Beach, Florida, in 2022. At the time, reports suggested a disagreement between Nicola and Victoria over a wedding dress Victoria had designed for her daughter-in-law. Nicola was said to have initially agreed to wear the creation before withdrawing at the last minute. Sources later told People magazine that, while talk of a family rift was well-founded, the alleged dress dispute was “far from the truth” of what was really causing friction.

The narrative of estrangement resurfaced in August 2025, when it was reported that David and Victoria did not attend Brooklyn and Nicola’s vow renewal ceremony, further fuelling rumours of a prolonged “cold war” within the family.

The situation took another twist in June 2025, when DJ Kim Turnbull, who has been publicly linked to Romeo Beckham since November 2024, issued a public denial that she had ever dated Brooklyn. Her statement added yet another layer of intrigue to the family’s already fraught public image.
