22nd December 2025 – (Zhongshan) Former TVB stalwarts Mary Hon and her husband To Yin-gor, long recognised as a popular on-screen and stage couple, have revealed details of their new life across the border after both left the broadcaster and eased into a semi-retired lifestyle.
The pair have settled in Zhongshan, Guangdong, and recently shared video clips on social media showcasing the interior of their new home. The property, reportedly purchased for around HK$1 million, has drawn widespread admiration online, with many praising the couple’s refined taste and relaxed way of living. Footage posted by Hon on Xiaohongshu shows a generously sized flat with a clean, modern aesthetic. The décor centres on light, neutral tones, while expansive floor-to-ceiling windows flood the rooms with natural light, creating a strong sense of openness and airiness. The actress has filled the home with lush greenery, including an entire “plant wall”, giving the interior a fresh, vibrant feel.
The layout also includes a dedicated tea area, designed for To Yin-gor to explore and enjoy Chinese tea culture in peace, reflecting the couple’s preference for a calm, understated lifestyle. Compared with Hong Kong’s steep property prices, the scale and quality of the Zhongshan home for the price paid has left many netizens openly envious.
Beyond the hardware, their day-to-day routine appears modest and grounded. Hon previously uploaded a video of the couple shopping at a local wet market in Zhongshan, where she praised the facilities as “clean and hygienic”. She expressed particular surprise at the low cost of living, noting that a large haul of meat and vegetables came to under 100 yuan, which she described as extremely good value.
Although the couple chose not to have children, their relationship has remained steadfast. Years ago, Hon suffered a serious and life-threatening bout of cerebral vasculitis. She later credited To’s meticulous care with helping her pull through the illness, and the experience has since deepened their appreciation of a simple, shared life together.
