17th December 2025 – (Taipei) Taiwanese singer-actor Show Lo, 46, has been in the entertainment industry for more than three decades. His reputation, however, plunged in 2020 after his then-girlfriend Grace Chow announced a highly publicised split, accusing him of infidelity and multiple affairs, including with former colleague Linda Chien. Following a prolonged downturn, Lo has been rebuilding his career in recent years, returning to hosting and staging concerts. At a recent fan gathering, he invited attendees on stage for hugs — a move that has nevertheless sparked a backlash online due to his demeanour.
Clips shared on social media from the event show fans embracing Lo and posing for photos on stage. Viewers complained that he appeared expressionless throughout, avoided eye contact and looked away, likening his behaviour to that of a “robot”. One commenter wrote, “How can he offer fan benefits with that attitude? He didn’t even look at their faces.”
The footage attracted a flurry of criticism, with users asking why he “couldn’t even pretend” to be engaged, suggesting that “small details reveal character”, and questioning how he could “keep taking fans’ money without basic respect”. Others argued that without fan support he would not be where he is today, while some speculated there might be an underlying reason for his conduct, noting he repeatedly glanced to either side rather than at the fans. A few even wondered whether there was an issue with his eyesight. Despite the outcry, some commenters said that if his fans were happy, that should be what matters.
