16th December 2025 – (Hong Kong) Cecilia Cheung has spoken candidly about how she raises her two sons, Lucas and Quintus, emphasising a relationship built on respect and companionship. The 45‑year‑old actress, who separated from Nicholas Tse in 2011 and has since brought up the boys on her own, continues to receive warm praise from her former mother‑in‑law, Deborah Lee, for her approach.
In the recently aired mainland variety show The Blooming Journey Season 2, Cheung discussed her family life while strolling and chatting with Carina Lau. She said she spends time with her sons through shared activities and interests, ranging from water sports, surfing and ball games to fashion and shopping. Rather than dictating choices, she accompanies them to select outfits, with the boys often asking for her views on styling, fostering a rapport that many viewers described as akin to friendship.
Lau added that Deborah Lee has consistently commended Cheung for nurturing her grandsons so well. Cheung demurred, saying the credit belonged to the boys’ good nature. She has previously explained that she seldom scolds, preferring to speak plainly and to stress personal responsibility: once a decision is made, her sons must accept the consequences. If they make mistakes, she is accepting of the process, believing that missteps are part of becoming better. Her parenting philosophy has drawn widespread acclaim from netizens.
